World class technology bringing to you a world of quality products

AL KABEER’s ultra modern abattoir at its Hyderabad complex has been constructed to match standards set by E.U. and the S.F.D.A.

At the abattoir sophisticated technology is used to ensure hygiene and efficiency. It has two completely separate sections for buffaloes and sheep. It is also equipped with automatic rail lines, mobile platforms, sophisticated power saws, hydraulic and pneumatic cutters and sophisticated dehiding machine which ensures the carcass is not contaminated during dehiding, A team of official veterinarians and in-house veterinarians constantly examine the carcasses on rail to ensure quality, total hygiene and production of uncontaminated and disease-free meat.

AL KABEER’s world class quality is a reflection of the world class technology it uses.

  1. Livestock holding yards accommodate 5,000 buffaloes and 12,000 sheep.
  2. Lairage holds 1,000 buffaloes and 3,000 sheep in separate pens for 24 hours.
  3. Abattoir can process 1,600 buffaloes and 1,500 sheep daily.
  4. Plant also has Captive Power generation facility.
  5. Complex facilities include fully covered 5 million litres water tank.

Where hygiene is not just a commitment, but a strict code of conduct….

The commitment to hygiene at AL KABEER is relentless. It does not compromise on either cost or effort. This commitment is manifest in the company’s state-of-the –art laboratory facilities which adhere to international standards. An in-house laundry and atmospheric controls enhance the hygiene.

Separate rooms for blood, hide and offal, a large and airy cloak and shower block, along with a strict dress code form basic facilities.

In the abattoir the animal offal travels alongside the dressed carcass to allow the veterinarians to thoroughly satisfy themselves, that the meat is fit for human consumption. All suspect carcasses are switched off from the main rail into a separate chill room for further tests. If positive, the carcass is immediately transferred to the Rendering plant.

In addition, the laboratory team conducts water analysis on a daily basis, monitors critical temperatures, does batchwise microbiological examinations, effluent water analysis and monitors the parameters for all by-products, such as tallow and meat meal.

  1. Company team includes a supervisory staff of 12 veterinarians.
  2. Modern techniques harnessed to enhance hygiene standards.
  3. Before entering the plant, workers are subjected to personal hygiene checks and a shower.

Technology produces wealth by effective recycling waste products……

The Al kabeer Hyderabad complex also houses sophisticated rendering systems that convert abattoir waste, trimmings, floor waste and bones into stable by-products. Bone and meat meal in powder form, fully sterilized with high protein content is in demand by large poultry feed manufacturers. Extracts from animal organs are sold to pharma companies for various applications. The fully covered plant is eco-friendly and prevents environmental degradation by turning waste into wealth.

  1. Sophisticated rendering plant imported from Alfa Laval, Denmark.
  2. By-products exported and supplied to Indian companies as well.
  3. Hyderabad plant surrounded by over 30,000 trees – a commitment to a cleaner planet.

Recycling waste products into eco-friendly ways of producing wealth……

While the rendering plant takes care of the abattoir wastes, a state-of-the-art effluent treatment plant (ETP) takes care of all liquid effluents including domestic effluents. The specially designed and indigenously constructed plant based on Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (U.A.S.B.) technology consists of equalization tank, screen chamber, primary digestor, secondary (methane) digestor , secondary settling tank, aeration tank, secondary clarifier, polishing pond and the sludge drying bed. The biological process in the plant completely eliminates the use of chemicals.

Solid waste from the plant including that from the livestock holding yards is taken care of by the Biomethanation plant for energy generation. The plant employs high rate Biomethanation technology developed by an Austrian firm and adapted to Indian conditions. It has a single phase high rate biomethanation reactor with biogas induced mixing arrangement.

  1. ETP treats more than 2 million litres of liquid effluents every day.
  2. Biomethanation plant sponsored by Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources (Government of India) and UNDP.
  3. Technical collaboration with Central Leather Research Institute.
  4. Capacity 60 tons/day.
  5. Generates 7 tons/day of Bio manure.
  6. 6000 cubic meters per day of gas will help generate about 1 MW power.
